SCCL and breakouts for the well GPK1. A mean breakout orientation of 90° ± 19° was determined from 498 measurements (data from Valley and Evans [2000]). The occurrence of clay-rich intervals (shaded panels) coincides with an accumulation of borehole breakouts. At the transition between fresh and altered granite (patterned panels), the breakout orientation rotates.
