The fracture aperture h profile for various values of the Hurst coefficient \(\zeta\) with the dimensionless standard deviation of aperture fluctuations \(\sigma _h/\left\langle w \right\rangle\) kept at 0.25. For values of \(\zeta\) of 0.1, 0.5, 0.8, and 1, the profiles were shifted upward by \(\left\langle w \right\rangle\), 2\(\left\langle w \right\rangle\), and 3\(\left\langle w \right\rangle\) to prevent them from overlapping
